Flooding on Mississippi At Alton

Corps of Engineers has advised that flooding equivalent to the floods of 2008 may be experienced at Alton IL.  The Alton Marina is taking flood precautions now, the parking lot will be closed tomorrow, the temporary boat storage will be closed and all trailers and boats moved to the other side of the dike.  If this high water continues to rise, the marina will close, the water and power will be shut off.  A temporary dike may be installed to allow access to the docks the first of the week.

As many loopers know, the spuds locating the marina are higher than the dikes so we have a little room to breath, but not much, as the mighty river rises.
