I made that trip last November on a friend's a 43 foot trawler. The ICW in
S.C. and Ga is tortuous but as Rudy says it can be done., obviously. @We
went aground hard in Ga and had to be towed. Don't slavishly follow the
magenta line; it hasn't been updated in years. Also get Boat US unlimited
towing insurance. Our tow was over 2k because of the distance the boat had
to come. The actual tow was maybe 10 minutes. If you are using a chart
plotter, I strongly recommend that you review the day's run in advance.
Take notes. Following the channel around sharp turns can be tricky. Don't
on't be in a hurry. Stop if your are getting tired or are running out of
light. Finally, if you are going to outside research the inlets in
advance. If you have run an inlet before read up on it. My friend almost
lost his boat after I had departed coming into Jupiter.
