Happy Friday!  This is the last week to view Gary Oliveira's virtual exhibition and artist talk at the Helen S. Smith Gallery before it goes into our archives.  If you have feedback about Gary's work or the show that you would like me to pass along, I am happy to do that in lieu of our normal exhibition guestbook.

Thank you all for supporting the gallery and its artists and stay tuned next week for the opening of the Portfolio Class's virtual exhibition: Curated Moments.

Gary Oliveira: Every Dayhttps://www.greenriver.edu/community/art-gallery/

Gary Oliveira began this series of photography over sixteen years ago as he photographed his family. Early on in the project, he directed and collaborated with them when he saw the right moment, interesting light or a particular expression. Later, he watched and documented their self-awareness and creativity as they tried on the different roles of their identity. The most recent work is a combination of these ideas along with a visual record of progression and change.

The Helen S. Smith Gallery https://www.greenriver.edu/community/art-gallery/ is very excited to present a series of virtual exhibitions during this unprecedented time of closure for our enthusiastic art-going community. We now feature a robust virtual gallery of work as well as artist talks by each of our featured artists this year.  Additional interactive programming is in the works for later this year and early 2021.  Please share our invitation and continue to support these amazing resilient artists!
