Opportunity
The City of Tacoma is seeking Native American artists and creatives, working in any artistic style and medium, to assist with an outdoor mural in mid-late May 2017. Participants will be paid to help paint the approximately 19,200 sq. ft. mural designed by artists Jessilyn Brinkerhoff and Esteban Camacho Steffensen on the wall of 7 Seas Brewery along the Prairie Line Trail in downtown Tacoma. Participants will learn mural painting techniques, ranging from basic to advanced methods depending on skill level. Artists should be enrolled in or have a connection to the Puyallup Tribe. No mural painting experience is necessary.
Assistant Artists will:*
Assistant Artists should:
- be 18 or older to be eligible for payment
- be enrolled in or have a connection to the Puyallup Tribe
- be enrolled in or descended from any Native American tribe
- be interested in drawing and/or painting; experience drawing and/or painting is a plus

* be paid $15 an hour, up to 60 hours each.
* be able to dedicate at least 18 hours to assist with the mural (scheduling is flexible based on your needs).
* be available in May 2017 (beginning 5/4), with scheduling depending on weather and mural needs.
* if possible work off the ground on scaffolding and a scissor lift.
Assistant Artists should:
