I see on the site you refer to :  12 drops, or 1/8 teaspoon for 2 gallons.

So I guess that 6 drops for a gallon is very very little.

We have had two cruiser boats (28 and 355 Carver) and we used a CAMCO product called "TastePURE" which we bought at Wal-Mart in their RV section.  It is a sodium hypochlorite  product and comes in a pint (16 oz.) plastic bottle.

Its prescribed dosage is 1 oz. per 20 gallons of fresh water.  The bottles I still have are still sealed, or I'd measure the capacity of the cap.  I expect is between 1 and 1.5 oz.

I don't know the concentration of the TastePURE sodium hypochlorite solution, but it is most certainly less than that of full-on Chlorox! It does NOT have as strong an odor as that of Chlorox or its clones. I would estimate that 1/2 oz. of Chlorox would be sufficient to completely sanitize the fresh water supply of the GMC motorhome. If you are starting out at the first of the year, I'd suggest running a full oz. through the system for initial sanitizing, and then when the tank is empty, fill the system with water and add 1/2 oz. of Chlorox.
