Colleagues,

This week NCL is launching its https://national-coalition-literacy.org/research/the-2020-census/pledge-to-be-counted/ campaign.

https://national-coalition-literacy.org/research/the-2020-census/pledge-to-be-counted/ is an effort by the National Coalition for Literacy and its members to ensure a complete Census count in 2020, with a specific focus on adults with low levels of literacy, numeracy, and digital skill. We are asking individual adult educators, programs, and others who work with these adults to pledge to help them understand the value of the Census and complete the Census form.

To support the campaign, NCL is providing resources for understanding the Census and including Census-related activities in teaching and outreach:

We will also be introducing an email newslist designed to keep subscribers up to date on Census-related activities of interest. The newslist will come from the NCL email address (mailto:ncl@ncladvocacy.org), and the first issue will go to everyone on this NCL Members discussion list.

If you have colleagues who would like to receive the newslist, they can subscribe https://national-coalition-literacy.org/join-us/join-the-ncl-2020-census-email-list/

If you wish to unsubscribe, you'll be able to do so using the link at the bottom of the message. If you'd prefer not to receive the first newslist issue at all, email me directly and I'll remove your name from that distro list.

=> Note that the newslist will NOT take the place of this discussion list.

I hope that each of you will join us in taking an active role to ensure that adult learners and their communities are counted fully and fairly in the 2020 Census.

https://national-coalition-literacy.org/research/the-2020-census/pledge-to-be-counted/ today!

Thank you!

Deborah
