All:
Which of your cities and towns have mandatory ambulance/ems fees?? Broken Arrow is getting push back on our recently enacted ordinance and I am particularly interested in the accusation that the mandatory fee violates Art. II Section 37B of the OK Constitution, which reads "To preserve the freedom of Oklahomans to provide for their health care: (1) A law or rule shall not compel, directly or indirectly, any person, employer or health care provider to participate in any health care system..."
My first impression is that the city's run ambulance service does not fit the definition of "health care system".
Anyone encounter this? Have thoughts? I welcome any discussion/feedback!
