Greetings Vuecrest Homeowners,
Chris Bodiford, one of your Vuecrest HOA Directors, has been the Vuecrest Leader regarding NEP allocations and options. Please read his note below. There are 17 proposed options that the city can choose from and we would like to see our neighborhood get the benefit of this allocation. Please take the time to send in a vote. Thanks!
The Northwest Bellevue area has received $315,000 to implement resident’s desired enhancement projects and we need your vote!
Each Vuecrest household should have received a Neighborhood Enhancement Program pamphlet and ballot in the mail in the past few days. The pamphlet includes project descriptions for the 17 enhancement projects on the ballot.
Your Board has reviewed the options and believes that project NW-6 Enhanced Crosswalk at NE 8th and 98th/Park Rd would deliver the highest value for Vuecrest.
Pedestrian traffic from Vuecrest has recently increased across NE 8th by folks visiting the recently upgraded city park. With the newly expanded Meydenbauer Beach Park planned to open soon we expect pedestrian traffic from our neighborhood will greatly increase across busy NE 8th. This project will enhance our safety by:
shortening the crossing distance by reconstructing the street curb and gutter on both sides of the street
adding sidewalk space and reducing street width
adding ADA-accessible ramps
adding a Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacon
Your Board recommends NW-5 as the second option on the ballot. The 98th Ave NE - Striped Shoulder would complement the new crosswalk across NE 8th and lead down to the new Meydenbauer Beach Park.
Finally, for the third option we recommend NW-4: 92nd Ave NE Protected Walkway. This would provide a protected walkway along 92nd just out side Vuecrest leading down to the Clyde Hill Beach Park.
Ballots must be postmarked by October 26, 2018 to be included in the voting process. If you didn’t receive your ballot, please contact NEP Coordinator, Theresa Cuthill at tcuthill@bellevuewa.gov mailto:tcuthill@bellevuewa.gov.

Thanks again for participating in the NEP process to support your neighborhood!
