The production will be directed by Deanna Martinez. Auditions will be held Sunday, July 10th and Monday, July 11th at Tacoma Little Theatre (210 N I Street, Tacoma WA 98403) and on July 12th at STAR Center (3873 S 66th St, Tacoma, WA 98409). Audition appointments will be set starting at 6:00pm on Sunday and 7:00pm on Monday & Tuesday in five-minute increments. Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, July 12th at Tacoma Little Theatre. All actors must schedule their appointment using Casting Manager at the link below. TLT requires that all actors provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Truvy’s salon is Chinquapin, Louisiana’s go-to place for a beauty fix with a hearty side of gossip. Along with her overeager assistant Annelle, Truvy pampers her small-town clients with hairdos, manicures and all kinds of unsolicited advice. Anybody who’s anybody is a regular: There’s the doting M’Lynn and her soon-to-be-married daughter Shelby, the moody Ouiser and the well-to-do widow Clairee. Through witty banter and wisecracks, this hodgepodge group of women form friendships as strong as steel, which they are forced to lean on when tragedy strikes. *In order to capture the ethnic diversity of the American South, we are looking to cast actors of equally diverse ethnicities. And, as the roles require, a wide range of ages and abilities will also be prioritized. * All roles are available: Truvy (female identifying, 40s); Annelle (female identifying, 20s); Clairee (female identifying, 60s); Shelby (female identifying, mid-20s); M’Lynn (female identifying, early 50s); Ousier (female identifying, 60s) Ages given are playable ages, actors need not specifically fit the given age to audition.
