So many interested groups who were very interested in the hawk watch and birding. We thank Karen, Bob H.B., Bob P., Jim, John, Larry and Paul! Weather: The weather today started off fairly cloudy with northern component winds. By the end of the day, temperatures had warmed and cleared with southeast winds. Raptor Observations: There were not as many broad-wings as expected today, possibly due to the shift in winds. We had a few nice northern harriers close to the tower and a couple merlins too. Non-raptor Observations: The highlight of today was again the blue jay migration with almost 30,000 jays! We also had a brown thrasher, bobolink, and Gray-cheeked thrush.
