Ontario Rare Bird Alert for the week starting August 20, 2021

BLACK-BELLIED WHISTLING-DUCK (Niagara): One bird was found at Dufferin
Islands on August 20 and continued to at least August 26.

White-winged Dove (Chatham-Kent): One bird flew by the Cedar Springs area
August 23.

Marbled Godwit (Niagara): One bird was at the Grimsby Wetlands August
23-26. Another continued from last week at Jones Beach in St. Catharines
toAugust 23.
Marbled Godwit (Oxford): One bird was reported at Wildwood Reservoir August
25.

Buff-breasted Sandpiper (Niagara): One bird was present at Grimsby Wetlands
August 26.
Buff-breasted Sandpiper (Oxford): One bird was at Wildwood Reservoir August
22.
Buff-breasted Sandpiper (Brant):  Up to two birds were reported from sod
farms near Burford August 22.
Buff-breasted Sandpiper (Essex): One bird was in the onion fields north of
Point Pelee August 21.

Western Sandpiper (Oxford): One bird was at Wildwood Reservoir August 22
and reported again August 24.

Willet (Hamilton): The bird at Tollgate Ponds last week remained until
August 23.

Cattle Egret (Norfolk): One bird was reported on Concession A northwest of
Port Rowan August 25.

YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON (Toronto): The juvenile at Colonel Sam Smith
Park in Etobicoke continued to at least August 24.

CURVE-BILLED THRASHER (Nipissing): A report of a possible bird in North Bay
was posted to Birdnews August 26.

Lark Sparrow (Bruce): One bird was seen near Miller Lake August 22.
