Happy New Year Everyone

I have to pipe in here because I think styling is a very important issue if
the catamaran is going to become a more popular type of boat.  Yes  there are
probably many trawler type members in this forum who  are particularly
interested in fuel economy and function (including  myself), but when you spend over
$500,000 for a boat I think you should expect  to have some more progressive
marine styling in the package.  For the  selection to increase, the prices of
catamarans to come down and the fit,  finishs and quality to improve, the
market needs to grow substantially and  more attractive styling will be a
significant factor.  The catamaran is a  superior type of boat, only wish that some
large boat manufacturer like  Brunswick would help establish the market.

At least that my take on it.

I agree with what you are saying but design is normally evolutionary and
power-cat designs are doing just that.

I personally like the moderate designs of 40 - 50 footers being built in S.
African and Australian yards. I do not like extremes and I'll have no truck
with retro which I believe is just a lack of original creativity. Like haute
couture - if you can't think of anything new - copy some old designs.

I think the PDQ41 looks great (not perfect) and I wish I could afford one.
