Join us on Tuesday at 10:00 am in Keystone 102, when Dr. Ellen Moorex-apple-data-detectors://1 will be discussing her current project, "Green Machine: How Hollywood Represents Nature and Environmental Issues."

From Dr. Moore: "Green Machine" examines recent and popular Hollywood movies through the lens of genre to understand the messages they send to their audiences about nature and environmental problems. The study includes analysis of children's movies like Disney's "Frozen," superhero films like "The Avengers," James Bond spy thrillers, and Westerns like "The Lone Ranger" and "310 to Yuma." The research finds that key environmental issues are presented in very unusual ways to the mass audience, suggesting that the environment as "cultural landscape" might be just another product in the Hollywood marketplace.

Hope to see you there! -Jeremy
