2019 Southwest Washington Juried Exhibition

The Southwest Washington Juried Exhibition is organized by The Gallery at
the Kenneth J Minnaert Center for the Arts on the campus of South Puget
Sound Community College. Artists working in all media and residing in Clark,
Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Pierce, Skamania, Thurston, or
Wahkiakum counties are invited to submit an entry for consideration.

PRIZES

Merit Awards - $100/each and inclusion in the Juror’s Invitational Group

Show.

Viewer’s Choice - Winning artwork will be used for publicity the following

season.

All submitting artists will receive an exhibition catalogue.

SUBMISSION RULES

Include the following in one PDF document:

Completed entry form.

Images of up to 3 artworks. Images must be in JPEG format and not exceed

1920 pixels at the widest dimension. Entry materials will not be returned.

Artwork must have been created within the last 3 years, must not exceed

72” in the longest dimension, and must weigh less than 150lbs.

Artists must live in Clark, Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific,

Pierce, Skamania, Thurston, or Wahkiakum counties.

Artists must be 18 years of age or older to submit.

Entry fee is $25 per artist.

Artists have the option of selling their artwork. The Gallery retains a

25% commission on all sales.

IMPORTANT DATES

May 20:                Entries due

June 7:                  Notification of accepted artwork

June 26, 27:        Delivery of accepted artwork to The Gallery between noon
– 6 p.m.

July 8:                  Exhibition opens

July 11:                Opening reception and awards presentation

August 22:          Exhibition closes

August 26 to August 28: Pick up of artwork between noon – 6 p.m.

Guest Juror: Dawna Holloway

Dawna Holloway is the founder and director of Georgetown’s studio e.
Holloway earned her BA in painting from Evergreen State College and is a
former F.I.M. World Superbike Sidecar Championship racer. Launched in 2014,
studio e grew out of a private exhibition Holloway and fellow artists in her
"critique group" put on every year. In addition to regular exhibitions every
4-6 weeks, studio e hosts off site pop up exhibitions, New York’s Volta Art
Fair and currently at Art on Paper Art Fair, New York. Holloway works with
notable well-known artists such as Jeffry Mitchell, Anthony White, and Helen
O'Leary as well as assisting to further the careers of her gallery roster of
artists including Warren Dykeman, Gillian Theobald, Molly Magai, Ken Kelly,
Damien Hoar de Galvan, Brian Beck, Brian Cypher, Sarah Norsworthy, and
Heather Wilcoxon.

Holloway is active in the Seattle art community as a member of Art Table and
The Georgetown Arts and Design District.

She has curated exhibitions, special off-site projects like 3 Rooms and 1
Room in conjunction with King Street Station and the Seattle Art Fair and an
upcoming show at the Vashon Center of the Arts opening June of 2019.
