Hello Gators,

Thanks!...Brian Kozera for delivering an outstanding
bike skills and safety clinic last Saturday prior to the start of our group
ride!  Brian was out early setting up a
skills course for the more than a dozen Gators on hand.  After covering many good cycling safety tips,
we all had an opportunity to learn to practice our skills on the serpentine,
obstructions on the road, quick stop, box, and tight turns stations.  Photos will soon be posted on Facebook.  Also thanks to Chris Reiter for coming up with the idea for doing this clinic!Ken and Kelly Beauchamp for their fantastic “Triathlon
Transitions” seminar presented this past Wednesday.  There were great tips for new and experienced
triathletes ranging from preparing leading up to the race, practicing your
skills, and what to do on race day both before the event starts as well as how
to execute the most efficient transitions during the event.  Watch for some video and the PowerPoint from
this presentation to be available to you soon!

a bit less serious to watch on your next trainer ride, check out episode 18 of
the classic private investigator show Magnum PI based in Hawaii.  In this episode, which aired in 1981, Thomas
Magnum trains for and competes in the “Iron Man” triathlon, an event which
curiously included a 5 mile swim followed by a marathon and concluding with a
100 mile bike ride.  As expected, mayhem
ensues during the event and Magnum completes a 100% DQ move by reversing course
during the bike portion to once again save the day!... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSXIipFBkFU
