9/26,  Milford, Silver Sands State Park - Grasshopper Sparrow, Lincoln’s Sparrow, 2 Dickcissels, 2 Bobolinks, Indigo Bunting, among common species - all seen in grassy overflow lot (known as “sparrow lanes” by local birders.

Milford, Milford Point - For at least third day (thanks George Amato) a huge flock of an estimated 2500 Laughing Gulls feeding on baitfish on the Sound and roosting on sandbars, between Charles Is and the Housatonic River mouth. Among them were a juvenile Bonaparte’s Gull and 6 Common Terns. Ideal time for a rare jaeger, but none seen. Also a juvenile American Golden-Plover among a flock of juvenile Black-bellied Plovers, and 52 Am Oystercatchers on the sandbar. Six species of warblers in the sanctuary.
