Checking both areas yesterday there were about 1000 Snows, mainly Greaters,
on #43 east of North Dundas High School beside the quarry. The birds are
easy to see from the road.
In Winchester, both lagoon areas had numerous Snow Geese. There were a few
thousand at the sewage lagoons on Cty Rd 3 northeast of town. Included were
at least 125 blues, sticking fairly close together closer to the road.
At the dairy lagoon there were less than 10,000, all sitting on the grass
around the lagoon. When viewed from the end of Alexander Street I couldn't
see many blues so I thought they had moved on but checking from the north
on Liscumb Rd. I saw many more white morphs on the berm and hundreds of
blue morphs, sticking fairly close together.
Because all of the birds were resting, it wasn't possible to give a good
estimate of Lessers vs Greaters nor check for Ross's.
