Thankfully, there was no vandalism, but still quite unnerving. It’s definitely time to stay alert and report anything out-of-the-ordinary to the Bellevue Police Department. The following is a note from Barbara Cosgriff, our Vuecrest Safety Committee Chair. She will be conducting three options of remote Vuecrest Security Committee Round Table Discussions to receive community input on a neighborhood safety plan to be discussed with the City of Bellevue. As an urban neighborhood in a rapidly growing, encroaching city, neighborhood security has become a top-of-mind issue for most if not all Vuecrest Community neighbors. Initial conversations with City of Bellevue officials were positive and they are receptive to seeking solutions to address community concerns provided they reflect the preferences of the community. As a result, we are scheduling three virtual meetings to get a sense of the safety measures that the community members support. We look forward to hearing everyone’s feedback, concerns and ideas.
