Here is a good reason to have an accessible start circuit disconnect,
and a fuel cut off valve too!

Firefighters in Everett extinguished a boat fire at the Port of Everett
South Marina early this morning. >
The boat's owner said he had been sleeping on the boat and woke to
discover smoke. He left the boat and called 911. >
One of the engines started on its own and would not shut off, possibly
due to an electrical malfunction, the Everett Fire Department said.
Firefighters cut its fuel supply. The twin diesel boat's hull
appeared to be intact but the boat's interior sustained extensive
damage, although the fire department had no estimate on the dollar
loss. >
Merry Christmas and be safe.

I looked at a Hummingbird 998c at Bass Pro. It came with everything but
the map chip and radar but was able to be upgraded to handle a radar
unit. I plan on using it on a dive/salvage boat and since it came with
side scan sonar made it seem perfect for my use
I may or may not add radar to it as I plan on using it among the islands of the South Channel in Georgian Bay.
I have never heard of this brand before and am looking for opinions. Good, bad or ugly.
I have found various sites online about it but of course they all carry
the usual propaganda about it being the best thing since sliced bread.
Thanks
