The Department seeks a prominent scholar who conducts research which is
internationally recognised as excellent, and publishes in major
international journals, as well as teaches and supervises students at
undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels. Areas of specialisation are
open while preference will be given to applicants with research expertise
in social networks and family. Ability to teach social statistics and
quantitative research methods would be an advantage.
Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in Sociology at the time of
appointment and have a track record of excellence in research, publications
and university teaching.
Terms of appointment:
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The
University offers competitive package which include gratuity/retirement
benefits, annual leave, medical and dental scheme, and wherever applicable
housing assistance and relocation allowance. Initial appointment will be
made on a fixed-term contract of two to three years commencing as soon as
possible. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and
availability of funding.
