Everyone -

Ed was replying to an earlier post and I will provide an update: The American Golden-plover is across from the Swan Pond, in the puddles east of the parking lot.

The Swan Pond is located just west of the main rotary at Hammonassett Beach state park in Madison, as Ed pointed out.

I did not see the earlier post, and I found the bird about an hour ago in the west fields but it was flushed, apparently back to the original location where it was first found.

The bird is missing one leg, but seems healthy otherwise; feeding and able to fly with ease.

Birders who do not find it across from the Swan Pond may want to check the fields near the field house, further west from its current location.
