Hi everyone,
Así plugged in my Christmas lights outside, it tripped the GFCI button and
the wall outlet went dead. I’ve unplugged the extra lights and left the
original plug (which I think is the power to our Vivent security system)
but the reset button still doesn’t pop out. I’ve Googled how to reset and
it doesn’t help.
Is there someone in the neighborhood that just happens to be walking around
and may help me with this?
Very grateful!!

Check your circuit breaker. Maybe it was tripped, as well.

GFCI being a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter will not reset if the Grounding still exists in that circuit. If all the outlets are not being used then the GFCI outlet itself can be bad. It then must be replaced. That is if the circuit breaker of that circuit is not tripped. Usually GFCI are used in “wet” locations to prevent ground faults (which could cause electrical fire). So if your outdoor plugs/accessories are on and has “issues” it would pop the GFCI.
