Stretchy belts

The DD462-1 has a Balmar high output alternator which gave us some trouble. The major one had to do with the belt stretching and becoming loose. It took more than several belts before one was found that did not stretch so much that it would not come loose. Bill finally found a suitable one in Subic Bay.
His comment is that China does not seem to have as good quality belts generally and that when buying replacements in foreign countries you should test the belt and make sure it is ok before setting off on a long passage.
