Hello all! My name is Sophia I am a Tacoma based artist. I hope that you are all finding some time to create/be artful as a way to process during all of this craziness. During social distancing it's been hard to connect with other artists, and I wanted to share an opportunity that might be of interest. I host a project called Honest Feedback where I host pop up group critics. These workshops take form in pop up events where a small group of artists each present a piece of work to show and tell with the group. It's a salon style event where artists can give and receive feedback on their work in a non-academic setting. During the COVID-19 epidemic I have been hosting a Digital Soft Crit once a week between artists to share their work digitally as well as to create a space where artists can talk about how social distancing and the virus are impacting our practice. This takes form as a zoom meeting between 2-6 artists and usually last about 2 hours at the most.
