Common Terns were in unusually high numbers at Port Burwell yesterday and this afternoon.  I estimated 3,500 to 5,000 birds today. There were close to 2,000 on the small east beach in the village itself and larger numbers on the Provincial Park beach. I also spotted at least two little gulls amidst the perhaps 1000 Bonaparts gulls present.  Shorebirds were almost absent with the exception of a few killdeer, sanderling and spotted sandpipers. Good Birding.
