On the marsh: 2 mute swans, 4 American Oystercatchers, 2 Greater
Yellowlegs, a flock of about 25 "peeps" flew over, 8 Canada Geese flew
over, 2 mallards. Our ospreys were on the nest calling, then the male flew
off. 3 other Ospreys flying over marsh. 5 Purple Martins at the gourds
condo, singing.
On the Grounds: 1 Common Yellow throat in bushes off the private road, 3
pairs of Tree swallows-all collecting materials and bringing into nest
boxes, but one nest box is having competition from House sparrows. White
throated (about 15) sparrows were all over the grounds, 12 Mourning doves,
2 House finches, 2 Goldfinches, 2 Red winged blackbirds singing, 6
American Robins, 1 Catbird, 2 Mockingbirds, 1 Carolina wren singing
loudly, 7 Common Grackles, 4 Cowbirds sitting together in tree top.
In lagoon- just briefly viewed were 2 Snowy Egrets.
