Pierce Transit Leads the Nation in Using Renewable Natural Gas

Renewable natural gas is a growing transit and truck fuel that can replace many of the diesel fleets now on the road.  Renewable natural gas typically comes from methane that is captured at landfills, sewage treatment facilities or even farms.  The gas that is generated is typically affordable and has a 80% lower greenhouse gas footprint than regular natural gas.  Using renewable natural gas makes the Pierce Transit fleet the cleanest in the nation and keeps local fuel dollars in our region.  This is what real sustainability looks like.
