Gators: October 20-25 Group Training Opportunities

Hello Gators,Following is a list of this week's group training opportunities...Today, 10/20, 10am-11am and 8:30pm-9:30pm: Tri Swim ClassesTuesday, 10/21, 7:30pm-9pm: Strength Training for Triathletes... Let's continue the momentum started last week and see even more of us this week!  Bring a yoga matWednesdsay, 10/22, 10am-11am and 8:30pm-9:30pm: Tri Swim ClassesThursday, 10/23:7:30pm-8:30pm: Bike trainers on the pool deck... 12 of us last week... Can we hit or exceed that number this week?8:45pm-9:30pm: Yoga in the Studio room... Great new locationSaturday, 10/25, 7:30am-10am: Bike ride on the Schuylkill River Trail.  Usual meeting location: Oaks parking lot off of Egypt Rd./New Mill Rd... We're running short on opportunities to get outside to bike.
This is the time of year to...Improve your swim techniqueBuild your strengthPreserve the fitness gains you made all spring/summer so you do not have to start all over in January (your body will appreciate it)Communicate with other members during group workouts about training plans and race plans for next yearComplete the Gator Fitness Challenge!  It's never too late to start!

Bring a yoga matWednesdsay, 10/29, 10am-11am and 8:30pm-9:30pm: Tri Swim Classes (Don S in the morning and Maribeth in the evening)Thursday, 10/30:7:30pm-8:30pm: Bike trainers on the pool deck (special guest instructor: Byron)... a total of 23 attendees combined the last two weeks... Can we hit or exceed 10 again this week?8:45pm-9:30pm: Yoga in the Studio room with Maribeth... I keep reading articles about triathletes needing to work on their flexibility.  This is the opportunity to do so (and also work on strength, balance, and core)... Plus you get to look forward to the "Shavasana" (aka "Corpse Pose") 5 minutes of total relaxation at the end.Saturday, 11/1, 7:30am-10am: TBD (will include some sort of biking workout... still figuring out whether to go inside or outside).  Watch for an e-mail later this week.

Gators,

with Don away I am filling in for him tonight & Saturday.  reminder of tonight's pool deck bike workout at 7:30 for an hour, followed by YOGA to keep, or get you crazy triathletes limber!

Saturday, we will be changing things up.  With Halloween festivities that some folks are partaking in, coupled with the inclement weather forecast and the fact that I have to teach indoor cycle at 9 am, Saturday will be as follows

  • 9:00 - 9:45 am spin class of Gators and YMCA members coming for cycle class (let's recruit some more GATORS!!)
  • 9:45 optional brick run of 15-20 minutes
  • possible strength training for those that want to stay afterwards similar to our Tuesday night of about 30 minutes, give or take

We will return to our normal outside ride next Saturday weather permitting.
