The Tacoma Refugee Choir is starting its second season THIS Tuesday 1/23
and we are welcoming new members to this unique ensemble.

The Tacoma Refugee Choir aims to uplift, unite, and inspire through music.
Our goal is for members to leave each rehearsal feeling hopeful and
empowered to make a difference.  We hope all will feel supported by a
family of friends that are united by love for others and joy in music.

Being part of this choir is FREE, requires no audition and no musical
training.  EVERYONE IS WELCOME!  We are especially eager to welcome
refugees, immigrants, people of color and others who may feel persecuted
but anyone willing to love others and advocate for refugees may join.

The choir uses the power of voice to connect with others and make our
community stronger and kinder.  Weekly choir rehearsals provide an anchor,
a room of warmth and welcoming faces, new friends, and an opportunity to
experience joy and community through music.

Our motto is that “It’s hard not to love people when you sing together.”
We believe that singing together can help us unite in our humanity and
inspire us to be kinder and more welcoming.  If you can speak you can sing
and if you can move you can groove.  Our public events aim to share the
love and hope we experience weekly with the broader community.  Our main
events in 2018 are:

  • March 10, 2018 at 7pm- Tacoma Sings! Community Sing-along
  • May 12, 2018 at 7pm- Refugees: Their Story is Our Story
  • November 3, 2018 at 7pm- Your Voice Matters

Rehearsals in 2018 are on Tuesdays, from 7pm to 8:30pm, at the Lighthouse
Activity Center, 5016 A Street, in Tacoma beginning on Tuesday, January
23rd.

For questions or information, contact us at info@refugeechoir.org or

drums and instrumentalists, solo artists and other musicians to the cause.
