Escaped dog in Eagan - we need your help

We have a situation that needs help in Eagan.  Munchie, a 2 year old female
Newfoundland who was recently surrendered to a rescue foster home escaped on
Wednesday afternoon and is loose in the area of Diffley Rd and Lexington Ave
South in Eagan.  The attached map shows where she has been seen.

&msa=0&ll=44.811375,-93.152304&spn=0.031785,0.064459

Munchie is very shy - she has lived most of her two years with an elderly
home-bound couple in northern Minnesota and was surrendered to rescue
earlier this week after one of her owners was hospitalized for a stroke.
Munchie ran away from her foster home, and is fearful of people, so unlike
most Newfies can not simply be caught by opening a car door.

We are planning to congregate in this area Saturday morning around 9 to see
if we can locate her.

Things we need:

  1. Volunteers

  2. If anyone has a 'live trap' big enough for a Newf, it would be

great

  1. Help at other times (people are out looking for her every night -

you can get more information on the Facebook page for lost dogs Minnesota.

Future foster homes with fenced yards available (Munchie was being held by
her collar when she bolted and there was not a fence to stop her)

If you can help out Saturday, or before you can reply to this email, or call
Janey Shaddrick at 763-689-8939.

Please leave your name and number so that we can let you know if she is
safely retrieved before Saturday morning.

Tom:

I think Ruby could be a good idea.  My understanding is that Munchie lived with an older newf and as a result she might feel more comfortable approaching another newf than a person.  And Ruby is certainly calm and mature, which would be a key requirement.

  1. Volunteers

  2. If anyone has a 'live trap' big enough for a Newf, it would be great
