6/25  Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center  9:30am-11AM.  sunny,
hot, low tide.
Camp is in session, so the building is busy with camper activities.
Our Purple Martin colony is flourishing- 2 gourds have chicks and many
gourds have eggs. Osprey chicks are growing.  Several other ospreys in area
flying around with fish in their talons.
On the Marsh:  6 Canada Geese,  1 Great Egret, 1 mallard.
On the grounds:  Robins, Cardinals, 1 Mockingbird that thinks it's a
cardinal and blue jay, 1 Catbird, several Common Grackles, House finches
and birds bathing in the fountain.
A Walk on the sandbars along LIS side- Several birders out.  Many Piping
plovers scurrying around with 2 sitting on nests,  3 Semipalmated
Sandpipers, 1 Semipalmated Plover, many Least Terns flying over carrying
fish, about 8 American Oystercatchers sitting on rocks with 2 pairs on
occupied nests, 4 D.C. Cormorants drying off and sunning, and 3 Common
Loons (possible family unit) diving and feeding in Long Island Sound.
