Denver 7s Tournament

Gentlemen,

Burns have stepped up and paid our tournament fees, last night, therefore please get your $20 to Burns ASAP.  We will return any overages if there are any.

Good practice last night, let's keep it up.  I feel that the style and speed of rugby that we're trying to play is starting to take shape, but as we all know, it is still a work in progress.  I can see a steady improvement, in many rookies as well as many veteran players, in the 4 characteristics of rugby that we have been working on this past three weeks.  That's only in three weeks, imagine in six or nine weeks what we you can accomplish together.  So please get to practice and keep up the good work.

Next week will be a very important week of practice as we get ready for Wednesday's games and the Denver 7's tournament.  Let's keep building the respect that the Denver Harlequins deserve.  We are entering a team into the social bracket at the Denver 7's tournament.  Please don't think this is a cakewalk tournament as you can see from the teams that are going to be entered into the social bracket.

Additionally, we will move practice, from now on, to Jacob's Field starting Tuesday.

Furthermore, if you have not signed up for the 2014 RMC Youth Rugby Tournament, please do so.  Tom will need our help for the weekend.  I will likely sign up for Saturday's tournament if anyone would like to join me.

See everyone at Jacob's Field on Tuesday at 6pm.

Gentlemen,

Good weekend of sevens rugby at the Denver 7's tournament.

The Denver Harlequins took 8th out of 12 teams on a very competitive social bracket.
We beat the Denver Barbarians B and lost the next three games by a total of 4 points.
We may have lost those games, but we gained great experience for all the players.

Great work by all players, and everyone logged significant minutes for the weekend, including; Mike, JJ, Adrian, Nathan, Mikhail, Mauna, Adam, Burns, Tweak, Frank, Perna, Jeff, Tulsa, Aaron, Paul, Stefan, Dan, and Adam Durica.

I wholeheartedly believe if we wanted to play a more competitive side, the entire day, then we would be playing in the finals (in the stadium) for the top two positions.  But, that wasn't the case because this year's Summer Sevens Program is all about gaining experience for ALL players who wanted to improve their Rugby IQ, Rugby Skills, Speed, and Fitness for the 15's Fall Season.  I have seen good improvements from those players that have come to practice and playing in tournaments and Wednesday's games.  Next year we may consider having two sides if we have enough interests.

Furthermore, we have plenty of 7's rugby to play including two tournaments and 2-3 games every Wednesdays.

Practices will resume on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Jacobs Park, from 6-8pm.

See you at practice.
