Apply Now: Tacoma Studio Tour &
Arts at the Armory | Deadline June 22
The Tacoma Arts Commission is now accepting applications for two fall 2026 events: the Tacoma Studio Tour and Arts at the Armory. There is no fee to apply and/or participate. You only need to submit one application to be considered for either or both events.
Tacoma Studio Tour | October 17 + 18, 2026
The Tacoma Studio Tour offers a rare chance to open your Tacoma-based working space to the public, share your process, and connect directly with the community. The tour emphasizes raising awareness of artists and creatives and providing opportunities for the community to experience creativity where it's made.
Studios open across the city for two days of free, self-guided exploration. Artists can choose to participate on Saturday, Sunday, or both days. You do not need a formal studio to participate. A community space, library room, or borrowed workspace can qualify if your setup reflects your active practice and allows visitors to engage with how you make your work.
Arts at the Armory | November 14 + 15, 2026
We’re proud to be partnering with Tacoma Arts Live to host the 6th annual Arts at the Armory held inside the historic Tacoma Armory (1001 S. Yakima Ave).
Participating artists and creatives are assigned up to a 10’x10’ space to share or sell their work and connect with collectors, community members, and fellow creatives at this arts market. Table and chair are available upon request. No demonstration or interactive activity is required. No commission is taken on sales.
Eligibility
Applicants must live within Tacoma city limits or maintain a regular studio or working space within Tacoma city limits. All work must be created, performed, and/or made by you. Commercially acquired, appropriated, or AI-generated work is not eligible.
Artists and creatives who identify as members of BBIPOC or ALAANA communities, LGBTQIA+ communities, people with disabilities, and economically or socio-economically marginalized communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
You can apply for both events with one application.
Application deadline: Monday, June 22, 2026, at 11:59 PM

Apply to the Mural Artist Roster
The City of Tacoma's Mural Artist Roster is open for applications.
The City of Tacoma, private building owners, and community groups use this roster to find and hire muralists. If you are added, your portfolio is hosted publicly, so people seeking artists can reach you directly for all kinds of mural opportunities.
We are looking for artists who communicate a unique vision or perspective, show an authentic relationship to their subject matter, show an ability to engage a site and community, and show skill in their technique and potential to work at mural scale.
Already on the roster? You are eligible to resubmit your portfolio with no panel review required. Please check your inbox for direct instructions.
To apply, you will need a 250-word statement about your work, a short bio, and 8 work samples with descriptions. Applications are submitted through Submittable. AI-generated content is not accepted as work samples. Artist teams may apply.
You must be a Pierce County resident, 18 years old or older, and not a current Tacoma Arts Commission member or City of Tacoma employee.
Deadline: Tuesday, June 2 at 5 pm

Tacoma Arts Month turns 25 this October
[An "Art at Work" catalog from 2002 is shown. "Art at Work" eventually became Tacoma Arts Month.]https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/tacomaarts.submittable.com/submit__;!!CRCbkf1f!QHMiPWFdYMlj9HFDL8ATzjvwGilNSLkKMSJzwyKqK0LjAnd9XQKXxgrnnC_czfHFrX61s-KtqZG5tZryT__KZnYBtDn6$
A copy of the Art at Work catalog, which was published in November 2002.
What started in November 2002 as a city-wide celebration of arts and culture has grown into one of Tacoma's most sustained public investments in its creative community. For 25 years, Tacoma Arts Month has connected residents to local artists, opened studios and performance spaces, and made space for every neighborhood across the city to participate in something larger.
The 25th anniversary is not just a look back. It is a chance to recognize how much the creative landscape of Tacoma has changed, who helped build it, and where it goes next.
Full programming details for October 2026 are coming soon.
