BEST WISHES FOR A SAFE AND SUCCESSFUL EVENT...

... to all Gators taking on the challenge this Memorial Day weekend!

Our big event of the weekend features our youngest Gators in the "Gator
Done Youth Virtual Swim/Bike/Run
Relay" on Sunday! At the time of this posting, we have close to 20
participants... Let us know if your kids are interested in being added to
the roster!

Additionally there are 5 other events either kicking off or continuing that
we also want to highlight, including three being offered by our awesome
club sponsors Scoogie Events and Chester County Running Store!  If you are
participating in one of these events or another that is not listed, please
post a comment so that we can send our best wishes your way as well!

This weekend's events include the following (and just a reminder that links
to all events can be found in our "Who's In?" calendar posted under
"Files"); all are FREE unless otherwise noted...

• Ongoing

◦ The Great Virtual Race Across Tennessee 1000K (through August 31): Ruth
Subach's journey continues!

◦ Quaranteam Strong Virtual Challenge (through June 30): This event is
offered by club sponsor Scoogie Events and Scoogie Snyder and includes
completing any or all of the following run distances over the timeframe of
the event... 5K, 10K, 10 mile, half marathon!  Note that each requires a
separate registration.  To date here's where I think we stand (corrections
and additions are welcome!)...

• Cindy Kelecic, Don Mack, Doug Raab, and Jennifer Raab are planning to
complete or have completed the entire event

• Jill Basile is doing at least the 5K and Half Marathon

• Karen Dieciedue and Als Mac Doyle are doing at least the 5K and 10K

• Michelle Louise is doing at least the 10K

• Deb Rocco is doing at least the 5K

◦ CCRS Virtual Ice Cream 5K (through May 31): This event announced live
during our Tuesday night interview with club sponsor Chester County Running
Store's Don Morrison provides an opportunity to complete the "Tuesdays in
the Park" series course on your own and then post the results... All
finishers are eligible to receive a FREE Coventry Parlor ice cream coupon
AND all Gator finishers will receive a FREE pair of Saucony socks!  See
"Events" for more details!  So far those we know are planning to
participate inlcude... Jill Basile, Keith Ho, Sheri Kuss, Don Mack,
Jennifer Raab, and Gina Stango.  Who else is in for free ice cream and
socks?

• IRONMAN VR8 (May 22-24): IRONMAN's virtual race series continues for an
8th weekend and this time it's back to the Olympic distance duathlon, which
includes run 1 (3km/approx 2 mi), bike (40km/approx 25 mi), and run 2
(10km/6.2 mi).  I'm guessing that all of our "IM VR regulars" are
participating, including the world famous podcast interviewee "IM VR
Streaker" Doug Raab plus Shawn O'Malley, Jennifer Raab, Renee Schuck, and
Don Mack.  Who else is in?  PS - By my analysis, IM's VR rotation is Half /
Olympic / Sprint / Olympic... At least that's what it's been through 2
rotations... So next weekend should be another Half (but no guarantees!).

• Gator Done Youth Gators Virtual Swim Bike Run Relay (Sunday, May 24): For
a 4th consecutive weekend we are offering our own virtual event!  This will
be the first relay featuring our club's youth members!  Each will complete
20 minutes of bike and/or run.  And for the first time in the brief history
of virtual events, we'll include some swimming!  As was the case with our
adult run and cycling relays, we'll have a post at the top of announcements
all day on Sunday for you to follow the accomplishments and "baton passes"
between our close to 20 participants!  Here's our current lineup...

◦ 9am-10am: Kozera family including Avery (bike/run), Josie
(swim/bike/run), and Paige (swim/bike/run)

◦ 10am-11am: Raab family including Hailey (run), Shane (run), and Ethan
(biking)

◦ 11am-11:40am: DeFreitas family including Joshua (biking) and Zachary
(biking)

◦ 11:40am-12:40pm: Epelbaum family including Emily (biking), Jack (biking),
and Sarah (biking)

◦ 12:40pm-1pm: Kenzie Kuss

◦ 1pm-1:40pm: Washburn family including Finley and Luke

◦ 1:40pm-2pm: Brooke Bazar

◦ 2pm-2:40pm: Kelecic family including Juliana and Katie

◦ 2:40pm-3pm: Dansbury family including Kate and Tess

• Great Summer 2020 Virtaul Challenge (Memorial Day 5/25 to Labor Day 9/7):
This newly announced event by club sponsor Scoogie Events and Scoogie
Snyder features a summer long challenge to virtually run/jog/walk and/or
bike across Pennsylvania (350 miles) or from Doylestown to the Jersey Shore
(Cape May; 135 miles)!  Any Gators planning to participate?

• COMING SOON... Steelman Racing's David Michener will be announcing a new
virtual challenge that will begin on June 1!

Go Gators!  Have a great weekend!
