Ahoy Ken,

The web site listed below contains all  the data and locks between Albany
and Buffalo.  It provides all the  clearances for safe navigation.

Call 1 800- 4 CANAL 4, (1- 800 -  422-6254) for the latest information.

During my first cruise, I tied a one inch  diameter PVC pipe to the bow
sprint 3 inches higher then the height of my  "Fixed" radar antenna.  Depending
on the "Pool" height at the time, I would  SLOWLY ease up to the bridge,
just making weigh, and if the pipe were to  touch, I would then leave the
helm, to stand on the bow sprint, and with  leather gloves,  "Pull" to guide the
boat in and along the extra space  between the beams.

This web site will give you a winter's  worth of reading.

I know I  am very close to the 15' 6" vertical clearance required here with
our Kady  Krogen Manatee. I would appreciate hearing from any other Manatee
owners who  have been through here re just how much room they had above
their pilot house.  I am wondering if I should remove the searchlight which
extends about another  8" above the roof. Advice, experiences?
