Call to Artists, Ruston Art Walk
May 17th, Noon – 8 pm; May 18th Noon – 6 pm
The Point Ruston Merchant Alliance invites and welcomes Tacoma’s amazing art talent to join us for a weekend of art appreciation. We will host up to 40 artists spread across our beautiful waterfront community and provide the public with a walking route of checkpoints to come see us all. Some will partner with small businesses to set up displays and some artists will join the Waterfront Market where we’ll group up to 20 artists in one spot. We will look for artists willing to do live demonstrations or live Art Battle. We’ll include all art media.
This event will surely become a new identity for Point Ruston. Point Ruston is a waterfront resort-inspired village with panoramic views of the South Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, and Mount Rainier. This is a place to experience the best in Pacific NW living, dining, shopping, recreation, and entertainment. Our community is a growing hub of potential with walkable connections to Ruston Way, Point Defiance Park, Chutes and Ladders, and The Dunes Peninsula. Residents of the neighborhood are art lovers who wish to support events like this in Point Ruston. Art Walk will showcase our group of businesses, our neighborhood, and our local artists.
Interested artists must apply before April 15, 2025 at: www.rustonartwalk.orghttp://www.rustonartwalk.org/
There will be two ways to participate. You can indicate your preferences in your application. Payments will be done as part of the application & acceptance process.
- Showcase your art within one of the Point Ruston businesses or residential buildings. After your application is screened, you may be added to a list of artists for businesses to choose from to sponsor. They would pay your $50 entry fee and you’ll work directly with them on logistics.
- Waterfront Market Artist Collection. Up to 20 artists will be invited to join our group in the Waterfront Market. Artists in this location will pay their own $50 and keep all sales. They will have about 10x10 space with overhead lighting and secured overnight space on Saturday.
