Personally I think I would use the Changfa 11 hp diesel from India, its a
great engine.

That's funny. I ran the boat specifications through my conservative marine design program and came up with an estimate of 6.8 hp to move the boat at 6.37 kts. (S/L ratio of 1). And that's at the light displacement figure. The boat's transportation efficiency (Knots x Displacement/fuel consumed) is similar to that of my 32 year old, low tech Willard.
