1 YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER  (FOL for  me)
2 Black-and-white Warblers
1 Blackthroated Green Warbler  (FOY)
1 Palm Warbler
Many Yellow-rumped and Pine warblers
4 Blue-gray Gnatcatchers
Despite the nasty weather I followed Hank's directions to  Pachaug SF and
found the Yellow-throated Warbler in the exact location  specified.  I heard him
singing before I got out of the car and located him  within a minute or two. I
toured the forest a little after that and found  several mixed warbler flocks
moving through, surprising for the wet, cold  weather.  1 spot was the next
road intersection past the YtW location  where there is a small picnic area.
Another with lots of birds was the bridge  over the brook just before the
campground.
FYI the entrance to the area is on Rt 49, 1 mile north of Rt  138 or 8 miles
south of Rt 14A.  (There are other entrances to the  forest).  Hank Golet's
directions:
Go into the main entrance of Pachaug on Rt 49, take the second right just
before the bridge that goes over Mt Misery Brook, go through the campground, the
road enters the forest and turns to dirt.  At a little less then 1/2  mile
down the dirt road there is a gated forest road on the right.  Right  after
the gate there is a small pool/fire hole on the left and a swampy area on  the
right.  This is the area.

RE: Palm Warblers - perhaps they have left southern Ct but  there are still
quite a few in the east and north of Ct.  Yesterday (Thurs,  5/1) I estimated
at least 15 as part of a large mixed flock of warblers on the  shoreline of
Mansfield Hollow Reservoir.  I have been seeing them  consistently in fairly
good numbers for at least the last 2 weeks. I saw 1  today at Pachaug SF.
