New antics from our back gate neighbor

With the flood light gone the last few days I thought maybe our neighbor had grown tired of his antics. Just left the neighborhood and he is now using his truck headlights.
Imagine the great positive productivity he could have with his stamina :)

Hi. ?Some keys were found left in mailbox door this afternoon. ?Apparently for 8923 Woodland Pass based on the mailbox door it was left in.
I stopped by the address to drop them off about 3:50 this afternoon, but no one was home.
I still have the keys, vice leaving them at the mailbox. ?If they are your keys, and you can describe them (or if the key fob unlocks your vehicle), I?ll give you the keys.
I live at 8910 Woodland Pass.

Something that should be of interest, whether annexed or not, Camp Bullis will continue to fight to maintain that same authority. COSA will also likely grant it because if Camp Bullis can?t maintain some of the restrictions around it for their training, the Army and Air Force may decide the hassle is too much to keep it open.

If Camp Bullis closes, Ft Sam Houston is likely to close. It needs Camp Bullis to fulfill its training mission. It was a hard sell in the last round of BRAC to keep all the military money in the city that we did. Trying to make voters think annexation would change those restrictions in any way is ludicrous. That?s too many billion (with a B) dollars at stake for them.

Restrictions will stay. Annexation means more tax, less service.

Berry,
You are 100% correct. The state legislature gave the military that Authority when they passed the no annexation Bill last year.
In my humble opinion the city of San Antonio is trying to intimidate voters in thinking that annexation in preferable to military oversight and nothing could be further from the truth. The military portion of that statute will have minimal to no impact on our subdivision.
Everyone needs to vote for option two on November 6th. This will send a clear message to the city of San Antonio that we have no interest or desire in being annexed by the city of San Antonio. We will derive no benefit except for higher taxes and less service.
Thanks, Greg Anderson

Here's another one for you... I received this in my office a few days ago notifying me of a zoning hearing to be held by the City of San Antonio on October 18 to allow discussion on a proposed zoning change that would bring our non-annexed areas under the authority of the Camp Bullis Military Lighting Overlay District (MLOD-01, or at least, that's the way I read it.  By my reading of the COSA Annexation ballot, it looks as if they already have that authority.  Does anyone have any other information on this?

I?m also confused as to what exactly they are taking issue with over the gate. Maybe I missed a communication?

COSA is City of SA.
FM is fire marshal?

This might have been thought of, but just in case. when this goes to
COSA can you mention that families on the other side of the gate would
benefit from it being open. I know 5 families on that side that would
appreciate when they are in this neighborhood not to have to go all
the way around to get back home. I know other families in this
neighborhood must know other families as well.

Just a thought.

I am confused as to why COSA is even involved. FIRE District #4 and
Leon Springs Fire Department have responsibility for fire protection.
Why does the city have zoning and building code responsibility instead
of the county?Bill Drees

Bill - That?s a good question concerning the building and zoning responsibilities. ?If the county had more authority, then the argument about the COSA needing to annex to be able to restrict/limit what is built would be a mute point. ?But that?s a whole different discussion.

Just a thought.

the COSA Attorney.  That is to take place next week.  We are
confident that we can resolve this to the satisfaction of the COSA and LSR.

I do want to give a huge shout out to LSR for the courtesy, the
restraint and genuine respect shown as you passed through the back gate this am.
This again defines who we are and how others perceive us.

Fortunately for us, the rain has delayed the front access road
opening until next Friday.  We do have some options and will be
discussing and weighing those with our legal counsel.

As always, your safety is priority for the BODs.  We do not want to
put you or your family in any situation that would risk their safety.
The BODs will keep you updated on progress.  If you have further
questions, don't hesitate to reach out to any of the BODs.

Thank you.
