Hi Bryan:

Might we know where those referenced moorings are located in FL? That sounds appealing.

It seems to me that I begin to save a lot of money the minute I move on the
boat for the summer months. I don't go as often in the restaurants because
I'm happy to just be aboard, I don't need all the winter cultural
stimulation (museums, theatre, etc) because I have all the playing field I
need in the boat, around it and in the water... I use the bike, the kayak,
the zodiac, the row boat, the diving kit...

I can spend days at anchor at the same paradise spot without having desire
to move any further, and if I decide to move, I burn less than a gallon an
hour.

I believe 2 persons can live quite confortable on a boat for less than 3000$
a month, including a rental car once in a while. But you need to anchor
quite often.

If you decide to settle somewhere for winter, I know places in Florida where
a mooring is about 300$ per month for a 40' boat.  200$ per week for
grocery, 200$ for visiting and entertainment, that makes 1900$ for the month
and still leave a lot of money on the 3000$ budget for anything else.

Best,

Bryan
