Installation question

I'm just beginning to explore using CollectionSpace. I'm installing it on an Centos 5.8 system. The CS installation documentation indicates using maven2. However, maven 3 is available on the project web site. Is there any reason to stick with maven 2.21 over 3.04? I've also seen instructions on the web for installing maven on Centos using yum and by downloading the rpm directly. My first attempt at the yum method failed; installing the jpackage.repo file for yum failed to find any maven packages available. Any advice on the best way to install maven on my system?

Also, is it possible to search the list archives? I don't see any search capability on the list web pages.

Thanks for any help

Mike

Mike,

You should be able to use Maven 3.0.4 for the CS installation -however,
Maven 2.2.1 should also work.  Unfortunately, I don't have any
experience installing Maven on Centos systems.  If continue to have no
success with the yum tool, you could use the seven steps instructions on
the Maven project's website: http://maven.apache.org/download.html -see
the section "Unix-based Operating Systems (Linux, Solaris and Mac OS X)".

As for searching the list archives, I don't know of any method but
perhaps someone reading this post does and can respond?
