Introducing "Rubenesque" a Krogen 48 Northsea Widebody

All hands-

My wife and I moor Rubenesque in the Ship Canal in Seattle, and live aboard. Our law practice allows us to set our own schedules and work from the boat via wireless connection when we choose, otherwise we walk to our office which is 3 blocks away. Rubenesque is a Krogen 48 Northsea Widebody (48-09) built in 1998. In late September we completed an 1100 mile circumnavigation of Vancouver Island (wettest Aug-Sept on record, we're still drying out). Next year family reunion plans will shorten the cruising window, three or four weeks in the Broughtons will be all we can squeeze in. The year after is 4+months for SE Alaska. I have the Panama Canal, South America, Caribbean, Cuba and the Great Circle on my list of to-do's.

I've made two San Francisco-Seattle trips (2002 and 2003) in late spring (May) and will do more offshore trips as the opportunities present themselves (the worst day boating is better than the best day in the office). I'm open to crewing slots if you are looking for assistance.

We bought our K48 b/c it was a better liveaboard than our previous boat (50' Ocean Alexander P/H). It's proven to be a great liveaboard and even better as a sea-going, long range boat.

I'll follow Scott Bulger's "schema" with interest, our Vancouver Island trip pointed out several things that will be absolute requirements for our long range cruising, i.e. - diver certification and basic dive gear aboard; SSB with weatherfax.

I look forward to following the posts and threads as they develop.

Regards-
