PassageMaker article on PowerCat charters

There's a good article in this month's PassageMaker about PowerCat
charters.  It's hard to tell which Moorings powercat the author
actually chartered, but I assumed it might be the Moorings/Leopard 372.

I checked out the 372 at TrawlerFest in Stuart last winter and found
it quite appealing.  I was impressed that they actually deliver these
boats on their own bottoms from the South Africa factory!  For us, the
only major drawback would be the lack of an inside helm position, but
for warm-weather cruising, the 372 has much to recommend it.
Performance with twin 110-HP Yanmars is not much different from a PDQ
34 - meaning it's really good!

And, as for chartering as a way to decide if a certain boat is really
for you (the thrust of the PassageMaker article), I wholeheartedly
agree.  We chartered a PDQ 34 for a week before we placed our order.
For us, it was the deciding factor.

We read this article but have not seen the boat.? The lack of an inside helm station would be a deal breaker for us here in the Northwest.? Our PDQ 34 is perfect to us for year round cruising here.? We love it.

Henry,  I talked to the broker in Miami four month ago.  The article is
wrong!  The 37 is transshipped and only the larger 47 is delivered on it's own
bottom. Dave
