Hi all, Just a brief report on the status of the Purple Martin colony at CT Audubon’s Milford Point Coastal Center. At our last nest check on Friday, 6/27, we had 43 active nests, with a total of 129 eggs and 59 chicks. That’s about on par with last year’s excellent nesting season. Well, just today 4 eggs are hatching in gourd # 25. That gourd has a brand new video camera installed, so you can watch the tiny chicks and parents anytime at this link: https://www.ctaudubon.org/2025/06/watch-the-2025-purple-martins-nest-at-milford-point/ A few gourds are still available for “adoption”, which is how we raise money to fund this important monitoring project at one of the largest colonies in Connecticut.
