When I open OpenScad 2021.01 , it appears full size, but displaced about 5 mm to the right on my monitor and I have to maximise it to get it centred.
Is there a setting somewhere to cure that?
No.

What platform is this?
Are you talking about a plain old non-maximized window, that you could
move and resize?
On Windows, I believe that OpenSCAD remembers and restores the location
and size of its window(s).
Sorry, perhaps I need to clarify your problem.
To the right OFF the edge of the screen?
It should save the window position & size when you quit, and re-open at the same spot.
If you have it non-maxed when you quit, does it appear whee it was next run?

Mike, I use 3 monitors on my openscad setup, and had problems with it
not remembering where the various windows were and their sizes. That all
went away when I updated to 2022.06.26
Now all the windows come up exactly as they were when I last closed the
program down, except for the text size in the console window.

Jordan and Michael, the OpenScad window is maximised in the sense that it is full-size, it is just that it goes 5mm off the right side of the screen. Clicking on the maximise icon fixes that, but the next time I call up OpenScad, it is off the screen by 5mm again, which is a bit of a bind. Other windows do indeed reopen in the same size and position they were in when they were closed.
I made the window quite a bit smaller, closed and reopened it and it came back small. But if closed full-size, it reopens full-size, but to the right, though this time a little less so.

Ken, I see that 2022.06.26 is a Development Snapshot. Does it work OK, is it relatively free of glitches?
I was a little concerned about that when I installed it Micheal, but
other than my small problem with the font size in the console window, it
has performed flawlessly. And that font size problem pre-dates the update.

Mike,
Can you run Regedit,
check HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\OpenSCAD\OpenSCAD\window size & position
First position a middling sized layout, then quit, note the registry size & position (after Regedit
F5 refresh)
Then run maximise, quit, note size & position (after F5)
Then un-maximised, but fill the screen, quit, note...
