NOTICE FOR CHANGE OF WARD BOUNDARIES

JM
Jon Miller
Wed, Aug 31, 2022 9:42 PM

Counselors:

Statue relating to change of ward boundaries provides:

Section 20 103 -  Changes Proposed by Governing Body  Notice

The governing body shall give at least thirty (30) days' notice of the proposal by the governing body to change the name, boundaries, or number of wards. The notice shall be published at least once. After the thirty day notice period, the governing body may make the proposed changes by ordinance which shall be approved by a two thirds (2/3) vote of its members.

City will post notice on its website and will publish the notice in the local newspaper.  Does the thirty days run from the date the notice is posted on the city's website, or from the date of the single publication?

Anyone addressed? Thoughts?
