I guess I have to add my two cents. Officially, there is no such thing as
a "long" blast, only "prolonged" blast. There was ( and still may be) a
question on the OUPV exam where the only difference between the right and
the wrong answer was which term was used. Prolonged was right, long was
wrong. Interesting discussion, it's a good thing this comes up every few
years to keep us on our toes.
