Cruising America's Great Loop and other inland routes
View all threadsWell Fred, when you get back to Waterford, take a turn to starboard, then
Tug 44 won't have to sit in the cold a*s mud all winter. Come on down to Fl,
leave the snow shovel at home. Bring a funnel, we have lots of that red
stuff you enjoy, and warm weather to go with it.

Since you retired, don't you do this every day?

I shoved off and expected to go to the Waterford Tugboat Roundup and then
back home, so I'm only stocked with a few days clothes and provisions ...
and somehow I wound up in Fairport on the western Erie Canal. Seems like
it's another adventure every day!
I've run into so many old friends from long ago and more recently, met a
bunch of new ones, went on a picnic with a lady, which started lots of
rumors, dinner out most every night ... hadda great time wherever I went
...
and got about a thousand new photos.
Tonite I met up with tug Urger at Sylvan Beach, 2 old friends there and 2
new ones. Right now they are shuffling the chase cars, and then it's out
to
dinner and the bars.
Looks like my 3 day trip has turned into 3 weeks.
And I can say with good authority that nothing but nothing beats the Erie
Canal and the New York Canal System.

But i like 6 feet of snow and 28 degrees below zero! It's an adventure.
All you snow birds are a bunch of wimps!
