South Sound Sustainability Expo set for March 5 Taking the Next Step: From Idea to Action is the theme of this year's South Sound Sustainability Expo set for March 5 at the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center. The free event, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., allows participants to check out the many businesses, organizations and individuals promoting economic growth through environmentally sustainable practices, including green transportation, recycling/waste management, energy conservation, environmental technology, local food and more. The South Sound Sustainability Summit and Expo is a partnership of the City of Tacoma, Clover Park Technical College, Pacific Lutheran University, Pierce College, Tacoma Community College, the University of Puget Sound and the University of Washington Tacoma.
