I suggest calling Amazon customer service. I had the same problem last week. Called Amazon two days after the documented delivery date and I was told the problem was due to an “accidental scan”. The package showed up in my box three days after the documented delivery date, one day after I called Amazon. I made it a point to tell their customer service that this was a recurring problem in our subdivision. This seems to be more of a USPS problem for me as it has a USPS tracking number and says was delivered to my mailbox. I'm at the boerne post office trying to figure out what the issue is. I files a complaint and indicated that a few neighbors have the same issue this week. They said they would get this info to the delivery manager on Mon and they would get back to me.

It is a USPS problem. It does not happen with any other carrier. My tracking information stated that my package was delivered to one of the boxes three days before it actually showed up, one day after I called Amazon customer service. Somebody COULD use this method to keep a package if a complaint is never filed, or the vendor simply decides to replace the package. Just to give an update.... I filed a complaint with the post office on Friday and the package was delivered to my neighbor's box on Saturday so she had to bring it over to me today. What a mess! But I am thankful it finally came.
